Hope this helps someone who is about to fix their PS2 … wish I could help those of you who’ve already ripped out your power connector, but I have not idea Google and you can find instructions & YouTube videos on how to clean inside.

I’ve had a DRE for a blue disc game, and I did everything in the step-by-step instructions and got stuck at the part with the white cog. I wanted to help out anyone that has the #1 problem (imo) on the PlayStation system. I been doing this method for about 6 years, it works for me. If anyone figures out how to fix this, post it here.
Take a small piece of plastic, and before you glue, align it with the plastic laser part and the switch, so that when it slides down the rail, it pushes in It made awful grinding noises.
