What make and model is your computer ? I always keep back-ups but my brother had to borrow my external hard disk drive, so I copied all the files on to my laptop. Anyone have some experience with this problem? As far as your data, I don't know how computer literate you are, but you could try booting into a live linux CD (doesn't have to be installed to your HD)
