Again it came straight back on after restarting the DNS service. In this case it could cover up the problem and may have other issues dependng on your setup. Should reboot after this.

If we know the server OS, it would help us find a solution. This obviously confirms the problem is DNS based. Just enter the event ID you're getting and it'll give you a bunch of different suggestions (and ones that work, too!). Look closely at the required services for DNS.
