When you first start Disk Management after installing a new disk, a wizard appears that provides a list of the new disks detected by the operating system. If you can get the disk to go Online on another computer, the problem is most likely due to the configuration of the computer where the disk does not go Online. Try moving the disk to another computer that has dynamic disks.
