I recently installed Dreamweaver CS4 and have started using it for some sites (while I'm learning some of the new features). Deleting the ssh file did the trick. I saw that you tried passive FTP and SFTP. Seems to depend on how the host server is configured.I had this problem erratically since 10.5, but not so bad as to interrupt work in any meaningful sense.
